Working alongside a team of five talented creatives, we engaged in a competitive project against five other groups. Our challenge was to design an evergreen retail display for the Adidas Originals Store located on Queen St. West. Our vision was to craft a concept that not only embraced the future of Adidas but also paid homage to its rich history and its enduring influence within various countercultures over the past five decades.


To achieve this, we strategically integrated new technologies, such as NFTs and Mixed Reality, into the retail experience. These cutting-edge elements were thoughtfully blended with nods to Adidas’ storied past, creating a dynamic and immersive environment that celebrated both the legacy and the forward-thinking spirit of the brand. This approach aimed to create a retail space that was not just a showcase of products but a testament to Adidas’ journey and its impact on counterculture throughout the years.  We these key details in our sights, we stumbled on the perfect slogan to characterize Adidas and its rich countercultural history, a mission statement that would continue its proclamation to innovation: “We Made The Shoe. You Make The Culture.”

We proposed a multimedia experience combining Web3 expansion into retail, and an augmented reality mirror connected to AdiClub and Adidas’s social media prescence. In addition, we developed a marketing campaign through various social media platforms as well as physical marketing in the 501 Queen St. Streetcar shelters of Toronto, an important identifier of the city, and the intersection where its infamous Grafitti Alley resides. We utilized chrome to establish the concept of “YOU,” functioning as a mirror to remind passers by of their potential. The amalgamation of the traditional aspects of counterculture, embraced with new technology and a sleek aesthetic, was established as an archetype for the future, and the endless creative possibilities of the community in Toronto and abroad.


Our resulting strategy was implemented in Adidas Original stores across Canada, in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
